A Master Sommelier-owned wine and pizza shop
In 2020, Master Sommelier Jarad Slipp decided to open a takeout pizza and wine shop in downtown Middleburg. It was the height of the pandemic and he figured that really great pizza and wine is just what people were craving.
He created Knead Wine using his background as a classically-trained chef, his experience working in multiple Michelin-starred restaurants, and his accreditation as one of only 275 Master Sommeliers in the world.
The concept was simple: make pizza with the best ingredients, and pair that with a selection of favorite bottles at two reasonable price points.
Since those early days, Knead Wine has expanded from its original Middleburg shop to include a location in Purcellville, which offers counter service and seating for up to 60.

Both locations have a retail wine shop with Jarad’s picks, available at $20 or $45 per bottle. Tell us about your favorite red or white + 2-3 descriptors and our knowledgeable team will take it from there.
